These series of books were inspired by my time living in Bellingham, Wa. Each book involves a theme using images that I captured around the town, and with the people that I came in contact with during my time there.
The first book was themed around the people I associated with, using only a Fuji Instax instant camera. One thing I wish my generation carried on from the previous generations is the documentation of physical pictures in photo albums. I realized that in years time, I would love to be able to have reminders of past memories to look back on, rather than relying on social media to document our day to day activities. I spent time capturing images that would evoke an emotion of that person or memory. I then scanned in the images and added a short, simple description of that time.
The second book is themed "Found in Nature". As the title leads on, these images are of the various plant and wildlife found around Bellingham. I spent much of my time outside, and wanted to document the beauty of my surroundings that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.
The third book is themed "Textures of Bellingham". In these images, I narrowed my vision towards finding new perspectives in the downtown landscape. I was looking for eye catching colors and textures, and the result, I found, was surprising beauty in the little details of a busy city.
